These life changing programs enhance appreciation of Nature by inspiring student action to protect local sensitive ecosystems, while giving students leadership opportunities to guide future students in Nature.
Free The Bears (Cambodia) will provide an educational children’s story book focused on connecting children with local bear species. Books are treasured in this country, therefore this book about the bears and Nature will inspire youth to understand and honor their local wildlife, which are severely threatened by the illegal wildlife trade.
New Georgia Monkey-faced Bats (Solomon Islands) Lubee Bat Conservancy will work to establish the habitat criteria for this endangered species, believed to reside entirely in old growth forests within an ecosystem under dire threat of logging. This study is essential for the species long term conservation and survival.
Conservation Heritage – Turambe (Rwanda) provides education to youth about Nature and their neighbors the mountain gorillas. While mountain gorillas are a large tourist draw to this region, local communities rarely get the opportunity to visit this species for themselves, due to permits and monetary constraints.
